This October, in commemoration the 50th anniversary of the death of famous French composer Francis Poulenc, the Sing Song Club and The Arts House is embarking on an ambitious 170-song journey through seven programmes to celebrate the different stages of the life of one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century.

Francis Poulenc (1899 -1963) is the most adorable of French composers, and for good reason. His music is sincere and unpretentious, and he is not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. At the same time, it is music of great depth and his songs have the ability both the listener and the performer, in the most profound way.
