« Drawings of sounds » (Dessins des sons) is a sound light painting created by Jean-Robert SEDANO and Solveig de ORY and this will be presented in conjunction with the holiday programme “Masak Masak:My Childhood” at the National Museum of Singapore from 24th May to 3rd August. This installation of digital art allows the drawing of music in space…using simple flashlights! The public, playing with light beams, will create the sound environment and images immediately.
Alone or together, Drawings of sounds is a unique visual and acoustic experience that sharpens the senses and favors a fun and friendly relationship between the participants. It is a place of discovery and creativity, an always renewed sound environment associated with a form of graphic interactive creation (“Light Painting”) in real time . The light patterns are projected by a video projector on a screen where marks indicate the location of sounds.
Titled Masak Masak, the children’s season at the National Museum of Singapore is back with special exhibition centres around the theme of My Childhood and features familiar playgrounds and larger-than-life games of yesteryear, interactive installations including new works by local and international contemporary artists and special film screenings. Suitable for ages three to seven, let your young ones play around the museum and have lots of fun!
