Jean-Yves Thibaudet will be on the singaporian’s stage the 27th of October.

The Singapore Symphony Orchestra will resonate during one special night at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

Three musical pieces are programmed. ShANgHAi Wonder will open the dance, this creation had been elaborated by Kristjan JARVI, invited conductor of the evening.

Mr. JARVI is american-estonian, and he had directed three musical ensembles in his career : the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra in Germany, the Absolute Ensemble in New York and he also created and directed the Baltic Sea Philharmonic. This polyvalence makes him the only conductor to lead the two oldest radio orchestras in Europe.

Thus, let your senses guide you to an historical and musical monument with the Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as “The Egyptian”. Written by Camille Saint Saëns in 1896, this concerto will transport you around Egyptian intonations and maybe even to the Louxor, the temple where the composer created his work.

It will be interpreted by the french pianist : Jean-Yves Thibaudet. He was discovered since young, after winning the “Conversatory’s First Price” in Paris and the “Young Concert Artists Auditions” in New York City. After that, Jean-Yves Thibaudet had followed a lightning career in the classical music domain. He recorded more than 50 albums and received two grammys’ nominations. Also famous for film soundtrackd compositions, he worked with many movie makers as Alexandre Desplat, Dario Marianelli… You’ll also notice his concert wardrobe designed by the famous Vivienne Westwood.
