The Annecy International Animation Film Festival was created in 1960 and takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. The festival is a competition between cartoon films of various techniques (animated drawings, cut-out papers, modelling clay, etc.) classified in various categories (feature films, short films, films produced for television and advertising, as well as films produced by students). Each year the official selection gathers more than 125 000 spectators and professionals. With more than 500 projected movies from 87 countries, the Annecy’s festival is now THE reference of animation in the world.
The MIFA (Annecy International Animation Film Market) is taking place alongside the festival and is a strategic and networking platform for artists, distributors and buyers.
The next edition of the MIFA will take place from 12 to 15 of June 2018. Each year, the market proposes the « Mifa Pitches », an international call for entries for animation projects still in conceptualisation phase or in development.
Four categories are available :
– Feature films
– Short films
– TV series or specials

This call for entries will enable to the selected authors to :
– pitch their project in front of a professional audience
– meet potential partners (producers, coproducers, buyers, distributors…)
– win a prize (grant, artistic residency, development grants, pre-purchase…) !
And of course accreditations for the festival and the market themselves.
